Introducing the Optibike Altus, the next evolution of American-made E-Venture bikes. Built on the all-new Gen 2 Carbon Frame, the Altus features a lower 26″ standover height for easy mounting and dismounting, making it the perfect choice for riders seeking a capable adventure bike that is easier to live with.

The Altus is powered by the new PowerStorm™ Whisper Mid-drive Motor. This upgraded powertrain delivers the same massive 190Nm of torque and 1600W of continuous power you expect from Optibike, but features a new mounting system and acoustic tuning to reduce motor noise. The result is a quieter ride that lets you enjoy nature without distraction.

Engineered for long-range exploration, the Altus carries a 1,440Wh Quick-Swap Battery. The new Gen 2 frame design allows for effortless battery removal, letting you swap packs in seconds for unlimited range or charge easily off the bike. The frame also features optimized internal wiring and an improved heatsink for the controller, for superior thermal management under heavy loads.

Hand-built to order in Colorado, USA, the Altus combines high-performance climbing ability with refined comfort. Configurable as a Class 1, 2, or 3 e-bike, or as an OHV via the Optibike MMI display.

    How is the PowerStorm “Whisper” different from the standard motor?

    The PowerStorm Whisper utilizes the same legendary gear-driven durability and 190Nm of torque as our standard motors but features a re-engineered mounting interface and housing. This design dampens vibration and sound, resulting in a quieter motor that runs cooler thanks to improved heat dissipation properties.

    What is the range of the Altus?

    The Altus comes with a 1,440Wh battery, which is roughly double the size of a standard e-bike battery. While range varies by terrain, this massive capacity allows for significant long-distance touring. For multi-day expeditions, the Quick-Swap feature allows you to carry a spare battery and switch it out in seconds without tools.

    Is the Altus good for climbing hills?
